PLANT HR MANAGER
Reporting directly to the Plant Director with a functional line to the Group HR Director, you will act as a true strategic business partner and operational leader. You will be responsible for defining, implementing, and driving the comprehensive HR strategy for the site. Your mission bridges high-level HR project management, talent development, rigorous administrative compliance, and close hands-on presence on the shop floor to ensure a strong internal communication culture and a harmonious social climate.
To achieve this, your main responsibilities will cover four key areas: Strategic Alignment & HR Project Management; Operational Leadership & Plant Management; HR Development & Talent Management and HR Administration & Legal Compliance; Supervise the HR administration and payroll teams.
For that, you translate business goals into concrete plant HR strategies that support operational performance and continuous growth, lead and deploy global HR projects locally, act as a trusted advisor to the Plant Director and leadership team, providing expert guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management; Maintain an active physical presence on the production floor, building strong, authentic relationships with line managers, supervisors, and operators to gauge the social climate, drive internal communication strategies that ensure transparency, boost employee engagement, and align all teams with the plant’s core industrial values, manage labor relations, lead local union and employee representative meetings, and foster a constructive, collaborative, and safe social dialogue; Oversee the full talent acquisition lifecycle for the site, ensuring the timely recruitment of both technical operators and highly skilled engineers, drive Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP/GPEC) by mapping skills, designing robust training plans, building versatility matrices (polyvalence), and securing succession pipelines for critical industrial roles, steer the annual performance review process, identifying high potentials, driving career development, and implementing employee retention strategies; Guaranteeing perfect accuracy in time management, contractual operations, and personnel files, ensure strict compliance with local labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and internal health, safety, and environmental (EPI, HSE) regulations, monitor and analyze plant HR KPIs (absenteeism, turnover, labor costs, training budget variances) and implement proactive corrective action plans.
Master’s Degree (Bac+5) in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Work Psychology, or a related field with at least 8 years of proven experience in HR management, with a substantial portion of your career spent successfully operating within an industrial plant environment.
Strong proficiency in labor law, HR administration systems, talent development methodologies, and psychometric/emotional intelligence evaluation tools; Native-level fluency in French and a fully operational, high-level command of professional English (written and spoken) to interface seamlessly with corporate headquarters.
You are a highly adaptable professional capable of seamlessly transitioning from boardroom strategy to hands-on, operational problem-solving on the shop floor. Demonstrating an excellent balance of empathy and authority, you possess exceptional communication, negotiation, and active listening skills. Your strong resistance to stress, analytical rigor, and proactive leadership will be your keys to mastering this critical position.
